CLS Brasil’s current Energy and Infrastructure Business Unit is the result of the legacy of services developed by Prooceano since 2004

Throughout our history, we have consolidated our commitment to providing oceanography and environmental services for offshore and coastal activities, both in Brazil and other countries.

Through operational support systems and a multidisciplinary approach, we operate in an optimized manner, allocating the necessary resources for each client’s demand. Our focus and goals are to establish a technically safer maritime environment for a variety of operations, meeting the specific needs of each client. Drilling and oil and gas production, seismic operations, coastal structure interventions, accident mitigation, and response capacity optimization, among others, have been and continue to be some of the company’s flagship services in these 20 years of market presence.

Oceanographic
and Environmental Monitoring

Extensive and systematic observation of physical, chemical, biological, and geological factors, as well as their interactions, allows us to understand oceanic and coastal environments.

With technology as our great ally at all stages of Oceanographic and Environmental Monitoring, CLS Brasil delivers complete analyses. To observe the physical environment, we use cutting-edge equipment such as AUVs (gliders), ARGO profilers, drifters, ADCPs, CTDs, and XCPs.

For chemical, biological, and geological evaluation, in addition to traditional sampling methods, we use sensors that allow high-definition imaging, assessing everything from the water column to sediment coverage.

As part of the CLS Group, we also have access to one of the most complete remote sensing databases in the world, including satellite images of altimetry, sea surface temperature, sea color, and synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images. Satellite technologies also enable the monitoring of turtles and aquatic mammals via telemetry.

Constantly improved and well-implemented numerical simulations help predict the behavior of the marine environment and its wide range of phenomena.

A core activity of CLS Brasil since the company was founded, Numerical Modeling encompasses everything from simulating solutions to developing models for their implementation. In the oceans, it is used to analyze phenomena such as waves, currents, tides, or even elements that might be influenced by them.

CLS Brasil uses open-source and commercial models, such as the Regional Ocean Modeling System (ROMS), SiSBahia, WaveWatch III, Swan, MIKE, OSCAR, and PARTRACK; as well as developing its own models, like PROSAR, a software for simulations and forecasts for Search and Rescue Operations.

In addition to collecting metoceanographic, chemical, biological, and geological data, CLS Brasil has an experienced team to analyze them and generate results through diagnostics, studies, reports, and analyses for environmental licensing processes.

We create and execute environmental projects according to the needs of our clients and/or specific regulatory bodies, optimizing strategies and reducing implementation costs by adapting them to local realities. Managing and integrating teams are skills embedded in the DNA of CLS Brasil.

Data Analysis applies to data measured by equipment; from numerical models and remote sensing; related to water and/or sediment quality; or qualitative and quantitative data from biota.
